Huntu (veil in Finnish) is a bug protection shelter for a Finnish artist. The artist needed a way to enjoy the beautiful northern landscapes in Lapland during the summer months, without getting festered by the vicious mosquitoes and gnats. Commissioned by the architects Julia Hertell and Samuli Woolston, per request we developed the shelter to be as portable and lights as possible, as the artist’s summer residence is hard to reach. Versatile and easy to use with a stand or hung from a branch or patio. The Huntu packs down into a small package and the aluminum support folds flat for easy transportation. The mesh is gnat-proof and the lower part of the cylinder is made out of tear resistant nylon. The 1250 mm wide cylinder fits two adults. The small table is a handy little surface for a notebook for cup of coffee.
